Description

The purpose of this position is to provide analytical and technical management for Capital, Operating, and RTA budget preparation. This is accomplished by analyzing financial and operational data; tracking funding and expenditure capability; projecting revenues and expenditures; preparing financial and budgetary reports and analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts.

Qualifications

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Over three years up to and including five years. Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or department including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed.

Functions

• Tracks funding and expenditures by compiling and maintaining capital program purchase documentation; tracking monthly capital program expenditures; maintaining RTA subsidiary schedules; maintaining source documentation and archive of historical data, both financial and operational.
• Analyzes monthly/annual operation and financial data by performing budget to actual variance analysis; performing trend analysis; projecting revenues and expenditures and conducting research for special projects.
• Manages and supervises staff by maintaining open communication with staff; reviewing and overseeing duties performed.
• Analyzes and reconcile general ledger accounts by performing various accounting functions and assisting with month and year end closings.

Functions

Picking up trash from the bus stop pad and the immediate area around the stop; sweeping the bus stop pad; thoroughly removing the trash from the trash can or receptacle; replacing the trash bag in the can or receptacle. Using the power washer to remove dust, dirt, spilled fluids, urine, feces and other undetermined liquids and/or solid waste. Using the graffiti removal aerosol and a rag to remove graffiti. Must be responsive to a change of plans and a break-off route to clean random stops.
Properly dispose of collected trash at either a Sun Tran or City of Tucson trash dumpsters. Thoroughly clean and sanitize the Company vehicle and clean the exterior as necessary. Fuel the Company vehicle, the power washer and associated gas can(s). Fill the water trailer. Conduct a post-trip of the Company vehicle to ensure there is not any mechanical malfunction and /or body damage. Accurately complete the vehicle “Weekly Service Log”. Attend a brief post-work meeting and report and PPE needs to your supervisor.

Streetcar Operator

Qualifications

Applicants must have a high school diploma/equivalent, Associate Degree preferred and one year experience in related field. MUST possess a valid AZ driver’s license, Class B CDL with passenger designation, ability to pass an AZ DOT physical, successfully complete training programs with post-training qualification period, successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, ability to be re-certified periodically on Standard Operating Procedures as well as through examination on all rules and hands-on proficiency, ability to write clear and concise reports and must be available to work weekends, holidays and evening hours.

Functions

Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations; assist passengers with special needs including offering assistance in boarding or de-boarding disabled passengers; provide information to passengers regarding service area; troubleshoot and operate malfunctioning light rail vehicles; operate track switches and provide hand signals or traffic flagging. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evening hours.

Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license, ability to pass Arizona DOT medical/physical examination and a pre-employment drug screen. Successfully complete training programs with post-training qualification period, ability to be re-certified periodically on Standard Operating Procedures as well as through examination on all rules and hands-on proficiency, ability to write clear and concise reports and must be available to work weekends, holidays, evening and late night hours.

Functions

Perform safety and preventive maintenance inspections of vehicles, systems, and equipment. Documents defects, maintenance, and repairs. Tests, maintains, repairs, and overhauls streetcar vehicle electrical, electronic and mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, operations manuals and manufacturer instructions. Operates and maintains shop equipment and tools. Must maintain a personal toolbox on-site with general specific tools (list provided). Makes time and material cost estimates and maintains records.

Performs re-railing of equipment. Repairs, replaces or modifies electronic and electrical components and defective parts for a variety of equipment and systems controls. Troubleshoots analog and solid-state electronic systems. Installs special electronic testing systems; installs communication devices on cars. Services and maintains microprocessor control systems. Inspects new microprocessor and solid state systems installed by contractors. Calibrates and repairs test equipment. Maintains parts inventory and computer inventory records. Operates computers for testing, diagnosing, fault log management, and related data input and retrieval. Maintains a safe and clean shop area. Prepares various activity and status reports, documents defects and repairs on inspection forms, work orders, or designated computer programs. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evening and late night hours.
