About Route 5

Sun Tran consistently transports an average of 17,388 passengers monthly on Route 5,  connecting them to key destinations from West to East Tucson. With convenient stops at the Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind, Catalina High School, Pima Community College and the University of Arizona, students enjoy easy access to education. The route also serves community hubs like La Frontera and El Rio Neighborhood Center, ensuring seamless travel for all. Route 5 also travels through a Sun On Demand Zone, a curb-to-curb service as long as you’re in the designated zone.

Key Destinations & Attractions

Start your journey at Pima Community College West Campus, where learning meets adventure in the desert. As you ride through Tucson, you’ll pass la Frontera Center and El Rio Neighborhood Center– great for community resources and connections.

Next, explore creativity at the Center of Creative Photography at the University of Arizona. If you get thirsty, stop by Transit Tea for a refreshing treat! As you continue east you’ll pass Catalina High School and the charming Trail Dust Town for a step back in time. End your ride at Udall Recreation Center and Park for some relaxation and outdoor fun.
