Route 1 (Glen & Swan) provides safe and reliable transportation for an average of 35,146 passengers each month. Explore the vibrant Route 1, connecting you to iconic spots, educational hubs such as Tucson and Salpointe High Schools, and community favorites. Start from downtown, this route takes you by the Greyhound Bus Station— a gateway for travelers– before heading to Tucson High Magnet School and the prestigious University of Arizona, where you can enjoy the lively shops and restaurants of Main Gate Square.

Continue your journey to Tucson’s academic side with stops at Salpoiunte Catholic High School and Rincon/Univeristy High School, leading to the Pima Community College Adult Learning Center. For family-friendly spots, don’t miss the Boys and Girls Club of Tucson and Madera Park.

Downtown Tucson

Route 1 drops you off at the heart of downtown at the Ronstadt Transit Center (RTC), Tucson’s central transportation hub. RTC connects you to multiple Sun Tran and Sun Express routes, plus the Sun Link Streetcar.

In downtown Tucson you can find a mix of culture featuring an array of restaurants, museums, theaters and unique local businesses making it a popular spot for locals and visitor alike.

Greyhound Bus Station

The Greyhound Bus Station in Tucson serves as a major hub for interstate travel, connecting Tucson to cities across Arizona and beyond. Tucson High Magnet School

Tucson High is the oldest operating public high school in the state of Arizona. They offer numerous magnet classes in science and visual and performing arts and options for culturally relevant courses, and many student clubs and interscholastic sports. Fun Fact, the 1987 movie Can’t Buy Me Love was filmed at Tucson High.

 

The University of Arizona

The University of Arizona (U of A) was established in 1885, and 27 years later, Arizona became a state. The first building, Old Main, was completed in 1890. It housed the School of Agriculture with classrooms, labs and a mess hall.

Now one of the premier universities in Arizona, it offers over 150 majors dedicated to expanding human potential, exploring new horizons, and enriching lives for all.

 

Main Gate Square

Main Gate Square, a lively dining and shopping spot near the University of Arizona, offers over 20 retailers and 30 restaurants. Salpointe Catholic High School

With nearly 75 years of excellence, Salpointe Catholic High School is known for its rigorous academics, award-winning arts, competitive athletics, and faith-cantered programs. Its college prep curriculum includes 23 AP and 21 dual-credit courses, a national accredited STEM program, acclaimed humanities and arts, theological studies, championship athletics and diverse extracurriculars.

 

La Madera Park

La Madera Park it is a 5.8-acre neighborhood park that includes multi-purpose field, ramadas, playground, picnic tables, basketball court, and activity court.

La Madera park can be found in Central Tucson, north of Glenn, between Country Club and Tucson Blvd.

Rincon & University High School
Rincon High School and University High School share a campus and provide students with strong academic programs. Rincon High offers a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on college readiness and diverse extracurriculars.
