Rules for Riding
We hope you enjoy a safe and comfortable ride. Please do your part to help us create a pleasant experience for everyone.
Be Safe
- Never run after a transit vehicle, since it may not stop after pulling away from the curb.
- Listen to your vehicle operators, they’re in the driver’s seat.
- Shirt and shoes required.
- No smoking on board.
- We recommend you remove children from strollers prior to boarding. Please fold the stroller and keep it out of the aisle.
- Passenger may not stand on vehicles with fewer than 14 seats. Standing passengers in larger vehicles please, grab on to a rail or seat back, and stay behind the white line.
- Never interfere with the driver’s ability to drive safely.
- Keep your arms, head and hands inside the vehicle at all times.
- No pushing, fighting or throwing objects.
- Gasoline-powered bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not allowed on vehicles or bike racks.
- Folding bicycles can be brought on board and must be kept out of the aisle. All other bicycles must be secured on the bike rack when space is available.
- Vehicle batteries and gas containers are not allowed inside transit vehicles.
- Except for service animals, keep pets enclosed in small cages or cardboard boxes.
- Fixed route service vehicles stop only at designated stops. For passengers utilizing routes 410, 411, 412, 430, 440 and 450 vehicles will stop at any point along the route that is indicated as a flag stop area and does not create a safety hazard. Please wait at a safe distance from the road and wave at the driver as the vehicle approaches to ensure they know to stop for you. The driver will stop at a safe location as close to you as possible.
- Cover open wounds before boarding to ensure the safety of all passengers. Passengers may be refused service if visible leakage of body fluid is occurring.
Always Pay Your Fare
- Have your exact change, pass, voucher or transfer ready before boarding.
- Operators may deny boarding to anyone without a valid fare.
Respect Other Riders
- If you choose to smoke before boarding, please keep away from the vehicle. Completely extinguish smoking materials before you board.
- Quickly take a seat in an orderly manner.
- Offer seats in front to seniors and disabled passengers.
- Occupy one seat, keep feet on the floor, and place bags and backpacks in your lap.
- If you must stand during your ride, please move to the rear to allow other riders to board.
- Use a reasonable volume while talking on your cell phone or with other passengers.
- Offensive language is prohibited.
- Use headphones at a low volume when listening to your radio, CD or MP3 player.
Take Care of Your Bus
- Keep food and drinks in closed containers. No eating on transit vehicles.
- No alcoholic beverages.
- Please don’t litter or create unsanitary conditions. Take your trash with you.
- Don’t damage transit property.
