The ability to travel is important to everyone, so all Sun Shuttle vehicles offer accessibility features for any rider requesting the service.
Sun Shuttle Features

- Each vehicle can carry as many as two personal mobility devices.
Wheelchair & Scooter Measurement Standards
Personal mobility devices have become increasingly diverse in size, design, and functionality. It is important that these devices meet certain design standards in order for you to safely travel on Sun Shuttle.
U.S. Department of Transportation Regulations 49 CFR Parts 27, 37 and 38 specify the development and maintenance of accessibility requirements for "common wheelchair" measurements, and how these requirements are applied to transit vehicles. If you want to travel using Sun Shuttle, it is important that you comply with these regulations. Passengers exceeding the limits listed below may be denied boarding.
What is a "common wheelchair"? As defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation Regulation, it is:
- A three- or four-wheeled device that can be used indoors and is designed for and used by persons with mobility issues.
- 30 inches wide, wheel rim to wheel rim.
- 48 inches long when measured two inches off the ground from the widest part of the wheel to the footrest.
- Weighs no more than 600 points when occupied.
